Tenant improvements to a recognized historical structure including seismic retrofit. Remodel of an existing former warehouse, approx. 3,100 s.f. Program included new partitions, an accessible restroom, flooring, interior finishes, lighting improvements, and a new storefront. The project benefitted from a stringent review by the City of Monterey Planning Department, which during the course of public hearings encouraged the project team to implement the Spanish Eclectic style evinced in the final design. The BookHaven is a regional landmark in the rare book community.
