Süda Restaurant,
Pleasure Point, CA

Since it’s opening in summer 2012 Süda Restaurant has proven to be a landmark local restaurant, winning 2013’s Best New Restaurant category in local magazine Good Times prestigious annual Food and Drink awards.

A tenant improvement of an existing space, the program brief included introduction of floor patching and introduction of stained concrete floor finishes, architectural beams, columns, and pilasters, refurbishment of the sales counter/bar, remodeling of the restrooms for accessibility, attending furnishings including tables, chairs, and bench seating, a suspended trellis element, and lighting package. The brief, however, does not begin to describe the exquisite quality of the materials, the craftsmanship, nor the resulting ambiance and sleekly retro-modern character of the finished result.

As noted in the August 2012 review at santacruz.com, "The open, light-filled restaurant incorporates recovered wood, stone and living plants into the design. The restaurateurs have melded their minds and aesthetics and opened Süda, the new Pleasure Point hot spot."
